VARSITY HOCKEY
Alex Brown’s goal with two seconds remaining in regulation lifted Fenn by Belmont Hill on January 27. With the game tied 2-2, Brown stuffed the puck by the BH netminder in a goalmouth scramble. Ian Moore and Henry Peters scored Fenn’s other goals.
“It was a great match with up-and-down action and good, solid play from both sides,” said coach Derek Boonisar. “We have talked about having better puck management and playing with a higher compete level. We were able to make strides in those areas.”
Nate Crozier, Tyler Bowden, and Ben Ferrell each played one period in goal.
On February 1, Fenn was edged on home ice by St. Sebastian’s School, 3-2. Although Fenn played well in spurts, the execution wasn’t consistent enough. Peter Nelson scored in the first period and in the third period for Fenn’s only two goals.
“Our goal is to be a harder team to play against,” said Boonisar, whose team is now 3-2-1. “And to manage the puck better in our own zone.”
