In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members of the Student Senate helped to raise more than $2,370 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation during their annual fundraising drive. For two weeks, fourteen student senators, two per grade, set up a donation table during morning drop-off and asked their classmates, families, teachers, and Fenn staff to contibute to this important cause.
"While working at our table, people would come up to me and say 'I am so glad that you're doing this'," reflects one fifth grade senator. "Some people gave more than the suggested $5.00 donation," shares a middle school senator. "That's going to make a big difference to help support breast cancer research."
At the end of this fundraising effort, dozens of Fenn boys, faculty, and staff dressed in pink to further demonstrate their support for breast cancer awareness. Thanks to the generous spirit of the Fenn community, Fenn boys have raised more than $50,000 over the past sixteen years for breast cancer research and treatment assistance for local families in need.
